Apple ITSC Conference April30th and May 1st

What an incredible experience! So many passionate educators, all willing to share ideas and help each other out.
My favourite part of the conference was planning something to take back to school.
Check out the progress here
These are my notes

Term 2 2010

Staff meeting 27 April 2010.

ICT PD- Kerrie, Lynton, Monique, Raewyn
Week 4: Over our last 2 sessions we have focused on the IWB's and the Interwrite software. We are working on using our boards more and trying to incorporate into every day use. The capture is a great tool to use and makes any document into an IWB document.
Today we looked at using the internet on our boards, specifically Active Maths and ARBs and capping what we did last week.

Week 1 Teacher PD
This week I have met with several of the teachers in their PD time. We have had some really good discussions on what they are already using in terms of ICT! It has been a great opportunity for me to see where teachers are at with their own learning of ICT.
The year 8's focus was on utilising the PAT website links to plan for their maths groups - some very good professional discussions had!
The year 7's looked at Active Maths and how we could use this - either with an Inter Write board, individual computers or a projector.
Both groups looked at the delicious account we have - we saved the passwords on to our computers.

Our new laptops arrived on Wednesday - it has been great to listen to the conversations in the staffroom.
Just as new toys excite the kids - a new laptop is very exciting for a teacher. Though not all would agree immediately with me on this :)

Week 2 Teacher PD
In the second session of our ICT PD we looked at signing up to the wiki and trouble shooting with the new Laptops - Year 8 teachers looked at the literacy side of PAT.
I was in Rotorua for some of session 2's allocated time so am looking forward to sharing all the fabulous new tools I have learnt about.

Week 3 Teacher PD
Looked at use of photo booth and google wonder wheel - see attached keynote presentation that I shared at a staff meeting today.

A breakdown of what I covered in my ICT PD this term.
